- Potential of integrated crop livestock system for California agriculture
Bio
Education:
- BSc – Plant Sciences (Plant Physiology emphasis) and Soil Science Minor (University of California, Davis, 2016)
Research Interests: My research focuses on the agroecosystem functionality of integrated crop-livestock management. My research aims to identify mechanistic synergies existing between ecosystem biodiversity, soil microbial ecology, and plant-soil feedbacks within integrated systems and how these elements combine to impact soil organic carbon turnover dynamics and other components of soil quality. In analyzing and quantifying how animal integration impacts soil health metrics, it is my goal to better understand how other agroecosystem variables may be congruently managed to best increase the productivity and provision of ecosystem services provided by integrated cropland soils.
